| In June 1973 the Second City Toronto opened on Adelaide Street in the Old Firehall. A live comedy-theatre, it was the precursor to Saturday Night Live, which debuted in October 1975. Several of Second City’s alumni including Bill Murray, John Candy, Gilda Radner, Dan Ackroyd and Eugene Levy. They would all eventually make their way onto Saturday Night Live. In 1976 Second City took to the airwaves with Second City TV (SCTV). In March, 2003 The Second City celebrated it’s 1,000 performance at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas
