The Bata Shoe Museum, Toronto, Ontario

Completed in the mid 1990’s the Bata Shoe Museum is located on the corner of Bloor and George Streets. The building itself is unusual in form and was meant to evoke the sense of opening a shoe box. The museum itself is dedicated to the history of footwear and established by the Bata family under the Bata Shoe Museum Foundation. The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries and with over 10,000 shoes. A great deal of the collection was donated from the private collection of Mrs. Sonya Bata, co-founder of Bata Shoes.

The Bata Shoe Museum is located at 327 Bloor St. West, Toronto. It is on the south–west corner of Bloor St. W. and St. George, at the St. George Subway Station.
