| Kensington Market is where the city’s cultural diversities meet, and is one of the city’s best known neighbourhoods. Originally the market was known as The Jewish Market in the early 1900’s because of the large numbers of Eastern European Jewish immigrants and a few Italians. From its inception the market has always sold a variwety of goods imported from the homelands of the various immigrant communities.
