| Step back in time and visit the former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt. Knighted by King Edward VII, Sir Henry Mill Pellatt was a prominent Canadian financier, industrialist and military officer of the early 20 th century. Begun in 1911, it took 300 men almost 3 years to complete. This Scottish Baronial castle borrowed the best design elements from Norman, Gothic and Romanesque styles and is complete with secret passageways, an 800 foot tunnel, a tower, stables and some say… a ghost. All set amidst a beautiful 5 acre estate garden. Sir Henry enjoyed the castle for only a few years before financial ruin forced him to abandon his dream. Today almost half a million people from around the world visit Casa Loma every year.
