The town of Wellesley is a picturesque farming community situated in the upper Nith River valley of southern Ontario, just to the north of the highway connecting Kitchener and Waterloo with Stratford.
For the most part, the village offers shopping and eateries and a place where local people gather and exchange news, often in Deitsch, a German dialect that was commonly spoken by the many settlers of Germanic background.
The Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival held in the fall attracts locals and visitors alike. The festival begins with a pancake breakfast. Enjoy the sights and sounds of small town life and take a stagecoach ride or see a quilt auction. From festivals, food, and furniture, to culture, crafts and churches, Wellesley is sure to fascinate everyone.
