Canadian National Parks include such protected areas as national Parks, National Park Reserves and National Marine Conservation Areas. Parks Canada, who manage Ontario’s National Parks have an agenda to protect the ecological balance within the park, while at the same time allowing the public to explore and enjoy Canada’s natural environment. National Marine Conservation Areas are a relatively new addition to the parks system. They are designed for sustainable use, although they usually also contain areas designed to protect the ecological integrity of the area. One of these National Marine Conservation Areas is located in Southern Ontario at the Fathom Five National Park.
