Kincardine, a small fishing town on the shores of Lake Huron is perhaps best known for its Saturday evening Scottish Bagpipe Parade and Concert, held traditionally from late June until Labour Day. Visit the Kincardine Lighthhouse located downtown at the foot of harbour street. This octagonal wooden lighthouse was built in 1881. An exhibit outlining the history of the area is located at the base of the tower. Kincardine has a rich marine history and a vibrant waterfront with 30 kms of sandy beach. Whether it’s a casual stroll on the beach and scenic boardwalk, an enchanting evening of fine dining in one of the many restaurants, or experiencing the tranquil sounds of the Phantom Piper in July & August as the sun is serenaded to sleep from atop the lighthouse, Kincardine is definitely a destination worth seeing.
