Flesherton, Ontario

Flesherton Ontario is located on Grey Road 4, east of Durham and south of Markdale on Highway 10. The village was originally called Artemesia Corners but was eventually renamed Flesherton after W.K. Flesher, one of the earliest residents to the area. The village of Flesherton has the second highest elevation in Ontario. It also has retained much of its early architecture giving the village an old world charm. Munshaw House is the dominating feature of the village centre and houses a delightful bistro inside. The Heard House, the Richardson Block, Hickling House and several old churches can also be found within the village. South Grey museum and Historical Library, located on Hwy 10 in Flesherton Memorial Park features exhibits of historical significance. A library also offers genealogical information. Flesherton is just minutes from the village of Eugenia, near Eugenia Falls and home to the "Eugenia Gold Rush Days" festival every July.
