Dundalk Ontario was originally called McDowell’s Corners and was incorporated as a village in 1887. Recently it has become part of the Township of Southgate located in Grey County. Dundalk has the highest elevation of any other location in Southern Ontario at 526 m (1,735 feet). An abandoned rail line now serves as a snowmobile trail sponsored by the federal government. The community of Dundalk celebrates a Square and Step Dance Festival in June and a Fall Fair in September.
