Jennie Forbes Cottage
87 Nile St, Stratford, ON, N5A4C7
Tel:519-273-7818

The JENNIE FORBES COTTAGE is a Regency style cottage buit in 1857, and has been recently updated to better serve our guests.  Each of the four rooms has an ensuite bath, with three first floor rooms; the Scotsman Twin/King, the Queen and the French Twin.  The Tuscany Suite is in the upstairs loft.

The home is located in the Historic City Center within easy walking distance to all events, shopping, fine dining and theatres.

The Jennie Forbes Cottage is a special place.   Built in 1857, it is one of a handful of original Stratford buildings still standing today.  Architecturally, it is a Regency-style cottage with a ground floor layout, wide centre hallway, 12' ceilings and gorgeous six-over-six 8' windows.  The wood trim and plank floor-boards are constructed of original pine and glow with a beautiful pumpkin coloured patina.

The Jennie Forbes Cottage is named after a young lady who resided here during the mid-1800s.  Her mother and father doweried the house to her when she married in 1874.  On-site is an interesting historical scrapbook which was prepared by a local archivist.

The Jennie Forbes Cottage has operated as a bed and breakfast since 1996.  The Cottage is beautifully decorated and offers four guestrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, as well as a comfortable guest parlor, dining room and front veranda.

The Jennie Forbes Cottage is situated right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance to the theatres, restaurants and shops.  The Bed and Breakfast boasts on-site parking and guests are encouraged to park here and walk.
